How You Can Help

Become An Individual Board Member

You can help us by applying to serve on one of our Boards. Individual Board Members at NRI Community Services, Inc. are people who live or work in areas we serve. We call on you for advice or assistance when needed. The following is some information about NRICS to help you decide if you would like to become a Member:

  • Individual Members include clients, family members of clients, staff, and community representatives who live or work in the areas we serve.
  • Individual Members are appointed to fill vacancies on various standing and ad-hoc committees of NRI Community Services, Inc.

  • Individual Members are eligible to be appointed to fill Board or committee positions on other regional or statewide organizations and represent NRI Community Services.

  • Individual Members are the pool of people our Nominating Committee draws upon to fill vacant seats on the Board of Directors.

  • Individual Members may be contacted by the Center to see if they can provide volunteer assistance on fund raising events, local budget hearings, or in other advisory capacities.

  • New Individual Members are welcomed through-out the year; ratification of membership occurs each year at the Annual Business Meeting in May or June.

  • Ratified Individual Members are empowered to vote at the Annual Business Meeting on any business coming before the full membership (e.g., Bylaws changes, election of Board of Directors).

  • Individual Members may include former Board members, elected officials, family advocates who have completed volunteer services for NRI Community Services, but wish to remain on our mailing list for special events.
