NRI Community Services has received funding through the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) to assist those who are victims of crime.
This grant allows us to implement a Victim Trauma & Advocacy Services Program to help women, men and children who are victims of crimes such as assault, rape, domestic violence and/or sexual abuse. This funding was awarded to NRICS through the Rhode Island Justice Commission and allows the agency to provide victims confidential counseling, medication, crisis and case management services at no cost. In addition, Emergency Services are available 24 hours a day, seven days per week by calling 235-7120.
Victims of crime are at risk for developing behavioral health issues such as depression, anxiety, alcohol and drug addictions and post traumatic stress disorder. NRICS counselors have extensive training and experience providing victims the support, education and treatment they need to recover and lead fulfilling and productive lives.
