The Wellness CenterThe Wellness Center offers a warm and inviting environment where people can relax in a friendly place to socialize, join in group therapy, watch a movie, listen to music, use a computer, and build systems of support. LocationLocated at 55 Cummings Way, with a separate entrance on the Social Street side of the building. Hours of OperationMonday — Friday 9:00-4:30 What's AvailableLucy's PlaceLucy's Place is a casual eatery located within the Wellness Center. People may treat themselves to a freshly brewed Starbuck's coffee, a cool refreshing soft drink, or even a hearty sandwich or daily special. Modestly priced, healthy and tasty food! GroupsThematic group rooms within the Wellness Center are the setting for approximately 25 revolving psychoeducational groups designed to inform and help people manage their health and personal challenges. The Cyber Space — Job Placement SupportThe Cyber Space is a state-of-the-art computer lab, equipped with all the current technology for desktop publishing, resume creation, creative writing, typing tutors, and challenging games. The lab is open to people during hours of operation for both drop-in and scheduled appointments. Pet Assisted TherapyProfessionally trained therapy animals, mainly dogs, are available for both informal encounters and scheduled individual therapy sessions. Contact with these animals increases self-esteem, polishes interactive skills, and promotes relaxation through the unconditional acceptance that animals provide. Art GalleryAn on-going exhibition that showcases the multiple creative talents of people with personal challenges like mental illness. Open for browsing, or a guided tour. The Consumer Advisory Council (CAC)The CAC plans quarterly public forums on topics of interest, such as housing, treatment planning, understanding bills sent for services rendered, representative-payee options, and guest speakers. This committee is run by clients, with the exception of a staff liaison who provides technical support as needed. |
