Louise Belisle, MA, PC

Louise Belisle, MA, PC

Louise has nearly 30 years experience in the field of children's mental health and family treatment. Her trainings are psychoeducational in nature and approach and are not meant to be treatment or therapy groups. All are suitable for the general public, but professionals working with families, youth and children may find them helpful. She discusses understanding yourself as a parent and why certain approaches to discipline are more appealing and effective for some than for others. She also addresses seeking out external assets for families and identifying internal assets within each family member in order to find ways to problem-solve together. Her workshops take a community organizing perspective to family dynamics, by viewing the family as a cooperative community. Louise will also help the non-professionals understand the long-range impacts of several types of abuse. She helps to answer questions like “Why don't kids tell when they're being abused?” or “Why does she stay in that abusive relationship?”
